General Policies

  • A minimum of 50% of your session fee is due upon booking in order to reserve your session date and time, a 30% deposit is required for weddings
  • A $40 travel fee may be collected for locations or homes outside of a 20 mile radius of the Studio 76053
  • Sessions requiring multiple locations must be within a reasonable driving distance of one another

FAQs

What is “product credit”?

I shoot with the end in mind, which means we print something from every single session and wedding. All sessions include a specified amount of product credit to spend after your shoot & every wedding includes a wedding album. This works the same way as a gift card! Only use the amount that came with your session, or use it as a credit towards a larger purchase.

I’ve never had professional photos taken before, What can I expect?

First and foremost, relax! Contact me with the details about your needs and I will walk you through the entire process. We will have a pre-session consultation in person at the studio, your home, or somwhere in between to talk about what you would like to create with your session or wedding photos. From there, just show up and have fun! Typically, about two weeks later (or 6-8 for weddings) we’ll get together once again for your photo viewing and ordering session. I’ll send you everything you need to know before you show up!

What should we wear?

Classy and clean! Go for a timeless look rather than super trendy. Check out my fall & winter and summer & spring style guides. Choose an item to plan your outfit around and go from there. Solid colors or patterns work well as opposed to characters or writing. Please do not try to match everyone in the family to wear the exact same thing! Same style and color scheme will work great. Layering your clothing can also help add dimension to your shoot without being a distraction. Keep in mind the location of your shoot and time of year – you don’t want to be wearing a bright tank top while all the brown leaves have fallen to the ground. Why a follow-up meeting?

We will schedule a follow up meeting 2-3 weeks after your shoot date. During this time we will review your photos, redeem your product credit, and place any additional print orders you would like. Feel free to have family members or friends attend who may also want to place their own print order. Your online gallery will be delivered via email two days prior to this meeting in proof mode, downloading will be enabled after your product credit has been redeemed at our meeting. No purchase is necessary to enable downloading, but we always print first 🙂

What products do you offer?

I’ve personally crafted a product line to be durable and high quality while meeting every client’s individual style and needs. We have many of our products listed here. I’m a firm believer in print. Your memories should NOT live on a flash drive! We all work so hard to create these beautiful images, so let’s put them on display and preserve your family’s legacy. When you come to the studio for your consultation and ordering session you’ll have the opportunity to see, touch, and hold all of our offerings to get an idea of what may be the best fit for you.

Are the high res files included?

Yes! All collections include your online gallery of edited, high res, unwatermarked images. No additional purchase required. Downloading will be enabled after your product credit has been redeemed at our follow up meeting.

What am I allowed to do with my high res files?

The print release you receive when downloading your images will allow for any other personal use, like social media and email. Although, I definitely encourage you to come to me for your printing needs, you’re welcome to print your photographs on your own. My lab is top notch and I would love to create a tangible piece of imagery for you that will last decades. Feel free to come see all of my samples!

Something came up, can we reschedule our session?

Yes, you may reschedule once but a second time will require a new session deposit. Your original deposit may be used up to six months from the time it is paid.

What are your turn around times?

After your session we will schedule a follow up meeting to redeem your product credit 2-3 weeks after your shoot date. Your online gallery will be emailed to you 2 days prior to our meeting.

Print orders are placed every Monday, and delivered or shipped every Friday.

When should we schedule and have our newborn shoot?

Contact us during your pregnancy and we will schedule you for sometime in the week after your due date. It is best to photograph newborns within the first 7 days of birth, sessions tend to not go as smoothly after the first week. Try not to wait until after the baby is born to contact us, chances are we won’t have the ability to come before the baby is one week old.

How does the Fresh 48 work?

Similar to the newborn session, contact us during your pregnancy and we will put your due date on our calendar. Notify us once you have just had the baby to let us know when and where to come. The purpose is to capture your family and new bundle as soon as possible, before 48 hours, so be sure to let us know right after the baby has come! Alyssa will meet you at the hospital, birthing center, or your home and spend 60-90 minutes shooting in a photo journalistic style.

When should I schedule my maternity shoot?

After you’re nice and round, but before you’re too uncomfortable! This varies from mother to mother, but usually between 25-35 weeks.

Do you have props?

We have a few props that can be used such as several chairs and antique cameras, but I highly encourage you to incoorporate something more personable. A sentimental prop or location is always a nice addition to a senior or family session. When setting up your session, just ask if you’re interested in using our props.

We have a special place we love to visit, do you travel?

I love to travel! Just contact us to set up a custom package for your needs.

Where will my session be held?

Its always a bonus to shoot somewhere meaningful to you and your family, more than just a pretty place. If there’s no where that immediately comes to mind, no worries – I have tons of suggestions if you’re having a difficult time deciding. We also have a great shooting space at our home studio. It’s a blank canvas, ready for you!

Can we bring our dog?

Yes! I love photographing our furry friends. Please keep in mind, involving animals and toddlers often takes more time – we suggest booking at least an hour session if working with animals or small children.
